Proud Ph.D.

(Written 8/5/06, after hearing the story of life from my sister in law).

I always thought that he bragged too much about himself,
about his Ph.D. degree,
about the fancy statistics he used used to solve his problem.

Then I found out he grew up in 3 states,
and lived in a camping trailer.
His Dad was an alcoholic,
and gambling addict.

Suddenly I thought,
it's OK
to be proud of your Ph.D.
